
Emergency Department Technician

- Provide direct patient care under the supervision of registered nurses and physicians in the emergency department.
- Assist with patient triage, including taking vital signs, obtaining patient history, and performing basic physical exams.
- Administer basic first aid and assist with emergency treatments as directed.
- Monitor patients' conditions and report any changes or concerns to the nursing staff.
- Prepare and maintain patient rooms and equipment for procedures and treatments.
- Ensure supplies and equipment are readily available and properly stocked.
- Assist with patient transfers and transportation within the emergency department.
- Document patient information and care provided accurately and in a timely manner.
- Communicate effectively with other members of the healthcare team to ensure coordinated and efficient patient care.
- Adhere to all safety and infection control protocols.
- Participate in ongoing training and education to maintain and enhance skills and knowledge.
- Provide emotional support and comfort to patients and their families during stressful situations.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information.
- Act as a role model for professional behavior and uphold the values and standards of Sutter Health.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to identify areas for improvement and contribute to the development of new policies and procedures.
High School Diploma Or Equivalent.
Completion Of An Accredited Emergency Medical Technician (Emt) Training Program.
Current Certification As An Emt By The National Registry Of Emergency Medical Technicians (Nremt) Or State Equivalent.
Minimum Of 1 Year Experience Working In A Hospital Emergency Department Or Pre-Hospital Setting.
Strong Communication And Teamwork Skills, With The Ability To Work Effectively In A Fast-Paced And High-Stress Environment.
