
Emergency Department Technician

- Provide direct patient care: The Emergency Department Technician will be responsible for providing direct patient care under the supervision of a physician or registered nurse. This includes taking vital signs, assisting with medical procedures, and providing basic patient care.
- Maintain a safe and clean environment: The technician will be responsible for maintaining a safe and clean environment in the emergency department. This includes ensuring all medical equipment is properly sterilized and stocked, and monitoring patient flow to ensure a safe and efficient environment.
- Assist medical professionals: The technician will assist medical professionals, such as physicians and nurses, with various tasks in the emergency department. This may include setting up equipment for procedures, obtaining and preparing lab samples, and providing support during emergencies.
- Monitor patient status: The technician will be responsible for monitoring patient status and reporting any changes to the medical team. This may include recognizing and reporting changes in vital signs, symptoms, and behaviors.
- Communicate effectively: The technician will be responsible for communicating effectively with patients, their families, and other members of the healthcare team. This includes providing clear and concise instructions to patients and their families and relaying important information to the medical team.
- Document patient information: The technician will be responsible for accurately documenting patient information, including vital signs, procedures performed, and any changes in patient status. This information is critical for the medical team to provide quality care and make informed decisions.
- Adhere to hospital policies and procedures: The technician will be expected to adhere to all hospital policies and procedures, including infection control measures and patient confidentiality.
- Remain calm and composed in high-stress situations: Working in the emergency department can be fast-paced and high-stress. The technician must be able to remain calm and composed in these situations and follow protocols to ensure the safety and well-being of patients.
- Continuously learn and improve: The technician will be expected to continuously learn and improve their skills and knowledge in emergency medicine. This may include attending training sessions
Minimum Of 1-2 Years Of Experience Working In A Fast-Paced Emergency Department Or Similar Healthcare Setting.
Current Certification As An Emergency Medical Technician (Emt) Or Equivalent, Such As Certified Emergency Medical Technician (Cemt) Or Advanced Emergency Medical Technician (Aemt).
Strong Knowledge Of Medical Terminology And Emergency Procedures, Including Basic Life Support (Bls) And Advanced Cardiac Life Support (Acls).
Ability To Multitask And Prioritize In A High-Stress Environment, While Maintaining Attention To Detail And Accuracy.
Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Effectively Interact With Patients, Families, And Healthcare Team Members.
