- Conduct sleep studies: Perform overnight sleep studies on patients to monitor and record their sleep patterns and identify any potential sleep disorders.
- Follow protocols and procedures: Adhere to established protocols and procedures for conducting sleep studies and ensure accurate and reliable test results.
- Monitor patients: Observe patients during sleep studies and document any changes or abnormalities in their sleep patterns.
- Set up and calibrate equipment: Prepare and set up specialized equipment used for sleep studies and ensure proper calibration for accurate readings.
- Educate patients: Explain the sleep study process to patients, answer any questions, and provide instructions for the use of equipment during the study.
- Analyze data: Analyze sleep study data and identify any potential sleep disorders or abnormalities to assist in diagnosis and treatment.
- Collaborate with physicians: Communicate with physicians to discuss patient results and provide recommendations for further treatment.
- Maintain records: Document accurate and detailed records of sleep study results and patient information in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Stay updated on industry developments: Remain current on advancements in sleep disorder treatment and technology to provide the best care for patients.
- Ensure patient comfort and safety: Monitor patient comfort and safety during sleep studies and address any concerns or issues that may arise.
- Maintain equipment: Clean and maintain sleep study equipment to ensure proper functioning and safety for patients.
- Uphold patient confidentiality: Maintain strict confidentiality of patient information and medical records in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
- Foster a positive work environment: Work collaboratively with team members to provide exceptional patient care and contribute to a positive and productive work environment.
Bachelor's Degree In Polysomnography, Respiratory Therapy, Or A Related Field.
Certification As A Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (Rpsgt) From The Board Of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists.
Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience In A Clinical Sleep Laboratory Setting.
Knowledge Of Sleep Disorders, Diagnostic Testing, And Therapeutic Treatments.
Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Work Effectively With Patients And Healthcare Providers.
