
Sterile Processing Technician

- Sterilize, disinfect, and assemble medical equipment and instruments in accordance with established protocols and procedures.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment to minimize the risk of cross-contamination and infection.
- Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on sterilization equipment to ensure proper functioning.
- Ensure that all equipment and instruments are properly labeled and tracked for inventory purposes.
- Collaborate with healthcare staff to identify and address any issues or concerns related to sterilization and infection control.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to protect yourself and others from potential hazards.
- Monitor and document sterilization processes to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
- Maintain inventory levels and order necessary supplies to ensure uninterrupted workflow.
- Participate in ongoing training and education to stay updated on industry standards and best practices.
- Communicate effectively with team members and other healthcare professionals to ensure efficient and effective patient care.
- Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures, including those related to patient privacy and confidentiality.
- Assist in the orientation and training of new team members to ensure consistency and adherence to established protocols.

Certification In Sterile Processing: The Candidate Should Hold A Valid Certification In Sterile Processing From An Accredited Organization, Such As The Certification Board For Sterile Processing And Distribution (Cbspd) Or The International Association Of Healthcare Central Service Materiel Management (Iahcsmm).
Knowledge Of Sterilization Techniques And Equipment: The Candidate Should Have A Thorough Understanding Of Various Sterilization Techniques And Equipment Used In Healthcare Facilities, Including Autoclaves, Ultrasonic Cleaners, And Gas Plasma Systems.
Attention To Detail: As A Sterile Processing Technician, Attention To Detail Is Crucial In Ensuring That All Instruments And Equipment Are Properly Cleaned, Sterilized, And Assembled. The Candidate Should Have A Strong Eye For Detail And Be Able To Follow Strict Protocols And Procedures.
