Intern - Drug Metabolism and Pharmacokinetics

The intern in the Drug Metabolism and Pharmacokinetic (DMPK) Translational Research group at TCAL will quantify biomarkers of pathway modulation using high-resolution mass spectrometry. Perform basic laboratory functions including sample handling, buffer preparation, enzymatic reactions, liquid-liquid extraction, solid phase extraction, derivatization and gel separation. Develop chromatography and mass spectrometry methods for targeted proteins identified in discovery datasets. Execute differential and statistical analysis of mass spectrometry data to identify and quantify biomarkers of disease, pathway modulation, and efficacy. Perform pathway analysis to map changes in metabolic/ biological pathways and lead to mechanistic understanding of the disease and drug efficacy.
