Job Description

If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join our team as an Assistant Wine Buyer at Total Wine & More.In this role, you will work closely with our experienced team of wine buyers to support the selection and procurement of wines for our stores across the country. We are looking for someone who is organized, detail-oriented, and has a strong understanding of the wine industry.   1. Assist the senior wine buyers in researching and sourcing new wines for our stores.
  2. Maintain relationships with wineries and distributors to ensure a diverse selection of wines.
  3. Conduct market research to identify current and emerging wine trends.
  4. Attend industry events and tastings to expand knowledge and network within the wine community.
  5. Assist in creating and managing budgets for wine purchases.
  6. Review and analyze sales data to make informed purchasing decisions.
  7. Collaborate with the marketing team to create promotional strategies for featured wines.
  8. Ensure accurate and timely processing of purchase orders.
  9. Monitor inventory levels and make recommendations for restocking or discontinuing products.
  10. Maintain knowledge of industry regulations and compliance standards.
  11. Participate in staff training and education programs to enhance wine knowledge.
  12. Contribute to the development of the wine section of our company website.
  13. Assist with pricing and merchandising of wines in stores.
  14. Stay updated on industry news, market trends, and competitive landscape.
  15. Provide exceptional customer service and assist customers with questions or requests related to wine selection.
  16. Assist in organizing and executing wine events and tastings.
  17. Handle administrative tasks related to wine purchasing, such as invoice processing and record-keeping.
  18. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth operations and communication within the company.
  19. Continuously seek out opportunities for professional growth and development within the wine industry.
  20. Adhere to company policies and procedures and ensure compliance with all legal requirements.
