- Assist in the procurement and selection of wines for our stores.
- Stay up-to-date on market trends and consumer preferences to make informed purchasing decisions.
- Collaborate with our team of buyers to develop and implement buying strategies.
- Conduct product research and analysis to ensure the quality and value of our wine selection.
- Build and maintain relationships with vendors and distributors to negotiate favorable pricing and terms.
- Monitor inventory levels and make recommendations for restocking or discontinuing products.
- Assist with pricing and promotions to maximize sales and profitability.
- Provide exceptional customer service by assisting customers in finding their perfect bottle and offering recommendations.
- Stay knowledgeable about our products and educate customers on different wine varietals and regions.
- Continuously seek out new and unique wines to add to our selection.
- Assist with organizing and conducting wine tastings and events.
- Collaborate with marketing team to create engaging and informative product displays.
- Help train and mentor new team members in wine knowledge and buying processes.
- Support the overall goals and objectives of the buying team.
- Stay compliant with all laws and regulations regarding the sale and promotion of alcohol.
Knowledge Of Wine Regions, Varietals, And Production Methods: A Strong Understanding Of The World Of Wine Is Essential For An Assistant Wine Buyer At Total Wine & More. This Includes Being Familiar With Different Wine Regions, Grape Varietals, And Production Methods.
Experience In The Wine Industry: Previous Experience Working In The Wine Industry, Either In A Retail Setting Or With A Winery, Is Highly Desirable For This Role. This Experience Helps To Develop A Deep Understanding Of The Industry And The Ability To Make Informed Buying Decisions.
Strong Communication And Negotiation Skills: As An Assistant Wine Buyer, You Will Be Responsible For Negotiating With Suppliers And Communicating With Team Members And Customers. Strong Communication And Negotiation Skills Are Essential For Building Relationships And Making Effective Purchasing Decisions.
