  1. Conduct research and stay up-to-date on industry trends and emerging wine regions to assist in curating the selection at Total Wine & More.
  2. Work closely with the Wine Buyer to develop and execute strategic buying plans that align with the company's goals and objectives.
  3. Assist in creating and maintaining relationships with wineries and distributors to ensure a diverse and high-quality selection of wines.
  4. Collaborate with the marketing team to create promotional and educational materials for featured wines.
  5. Conduct tastings and provide recommendations to customers and staff to enhance their knowledge and appreciation of wine.
  6. Monitor and analyze sales data to identify top-selling wines, as well as areas for improvement and growth.
  7. Assist in inventory management and pricing strategies to maximize sales and minimize waste.
  8. Stay organized and maintain accurate records of purchases and sales, and assist in tracking and managing expenses.
  9. Provide excellent customer service by engaging with customers and providing personalized recommendations.
  10. Stay informed about and adhere to all industry regulations and laws related to the sale and distribution of alcohol.

Job Qualifications
  • Knowledge Of Wine Industry: A Successful Assistant Wine Buyer Should Have A Strong Understanding Of The Wine Industry, Including Trends, Regions, And Varietals.

  • Experience In Buying: Previous Experience In Purchasing Or Buying Within The Wine Industry Is Essential For This Role. Candidates Should Be Familiar With Sourcing, Negotiating, And Managing Inventory.

  • Exceptional Communication Skills: As An Assistant Wine Buyer, Strong Communication Skills Are Necessary For Building Relationships With Suppliers, As Well As Effectively Communicating With Team Members And Customers.

  • Analytical And Organizational Skills: This Position Requires A High Level Of Organization And Attention To Detail In Order To Manage Inventory, Track Sales, And Analyze Data To Make Strategic Buying Decisions.
