Total Wine & More is seeking a knowledgeable and personable Wine Specialist to join our team. As a Wine Specialist, you will have the opportunity to educate our customers on the world of wine and help them discover new favorites. We are looking for candidates who have a strong understanding of different varietals, regions, and flavor profiles, as well as excellent communication and customer service skills. If you are a wine lover with a desire to help others explore and enjoy the world of wine, we want to hear from you!

  1. Educate customers on different types of wine, including varietals, regions, and flavor profiles.
  2. Provide personalized recommendations for customers based on their preferences and needs.
  3. Maintain a deep knowledge of current and upcoming wine trends and products.
  4. Create a welcoming and informative atmosphere for customers.
  5. Assist customers with finding and purchasing products, including handling transactions and providing product information.
  6. Respond to customer inquiries and concerns in a timely and professional manner.
  7. Conduct wine tastings and seminars to engage and educate customers.
  8. Collaborate with team members to ensure a well-stocked and organized wine section.
  9. Stay updated on industry regulations and guidelines for responsible alcohol sales.
  10. Continuously improve product knowledge and customer service skills through training and development opportunities.
  11. Build and maintain relationships with customers to enhance their shopping experience.
  12. Meet and exceed sales goals by actively promoting wine products to customers.
  13. Handle customer complaints and resolve issues promptly and effectively.
  14. Maintain a clean and organized work area, including product displays and shelves.
  15. Participate in store events and promotions to promote wine sales.

  • Sales Experience: Total Wine & More Is A Retail Store, So It Is Important For A Wine Specialist To Have Experience In Sales And The Ability To Upsell And Promote Products Effectively.

  • Certifications Or Education In Wine: Many Wine Specialist Positions Require Specific Certifications Or Education Related To Wine, Such As A Wset (Wine & Spirit Education Trust) Certification Or A Degree In Wine Studies.

  • Communication And Presentation Skills: A Wine Specialist Must Be Able To Effectively Communicate Information About Wines To Customers, As Well As Present Tastings And Events To Larger Groups. Strong Communication And Presentation Skills Are Crucial For This Role.
