Job Description

Do you have a proven track record of managing complex portfolios and driving investment strategies? In this role, you will lead a team of credit analysts and portfolio managers, providing strategic direction and oversight for our municipal bond investments.   1. Lead and oversee the municipal credit research and portfolio management team at UBS.
  2. Develop and implement investment strategies for municipal bonds, taking into account market trends and risk management.
  3. Manage complex portfolios and make investment decisions in line with company objectives and client needs.
  4. Build and maintain relationships with clients, providing expert advice and guidance on municipal bond investments.
  5. Stay abreast of industry developments and regulatory changes related to municipal credit research and portfolio management.
  6. Provide strategic direction and guidance to the credit analysts and portfolio managers on the team.
  7. Conduct in-depth credit analysis and due diligence on municipal issuers to identify potential investment opportunities and risks.
  8. Monitor and evaluate portfolio performance, making adjustments and recommendations as needed.
  9. Collaborate with other departments within UBS, such as sales and trading, to ensure cohesive and effective investment strategies.
  10. Develop and maintain a strong network of industry contacts to gather insights and stay informed on market trends and developments.
  11. Train and mentor team members to enhance their skills and knowledge in municipal credit research and portfolio management.
  12. Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, including clients, to provide updates and reports on portfolio performance and market outlook.
  13. Stay compliant with all relevant laws, regulations, and company policies.
  14. Continuously seek opportunities for improvement and innovation in municipal credit research and portfolio management at UBS.

Job Qualifications

  • Extensive Knowledge Of Municipal Credit Markets: The Ideal Candidate Should Possess A Deep Understanding Of The Municipal Bond Market, Including Credit Analysis, Risk Assessment, And Portfolio Management Techniques.

  • Strong Analytical Skills: The Head Of Municipal Credit Research And Portfolio Manager Must Have Excellent Analytical Skills To Identify Investment Opportunities, Evaluate Risks, And Make Informed Decisions.

  • Leadership And Management Experience: This Role Requires Strong Leadership And Management Skills To Oversee A Team Of Analysts And Portfolio Managers, Set Investment Strategies, And Guide The Overall Direction Of The Municipal Credit Research Department.

  • Advanced Degree In Finance Or Related Field: A Master's Degree In Finance, Economics, Or A Related Field Is Typically Required For This Role, Demonstrating A High Level Of Knowledge And Expertise In The Financial Industry.

  • Proven Track Record Of Success: The Ideal Candidate Should Have A Proven Track Record Of Success In Managing Municipal Credit Portfolios, With A History Of Generating Strong Returns And Managing Risk Effectively. This May Include Previous Roles As A Portfolio Manager, Analyst, Or Other Relevant Experience In The Municipal Credit Market.
