  1. Conduct thorough and accurate reviews of behavioral health coding practices to ensure compliance with regulations and guidelines.
  2. Identify and report any potential coding errors or discrepancies and work with appropriate teams to resolve them.
  3. Utilize coding expertise to provide guidance and support to clinicians and staff regarding proper coding practices.
  4. Stay up-to-date on coding regulations and guidelines related to behavioral health services.
  5. Collaborate with other team members to develop and implement quality improvement initiatives.
  6. Perform regular audits to monitor coding accuracy and identify areas for improvement.
  7. Communicate findings and recommendations to relevant stakeholders, including management and providers.
  8. Provide training and education to staff on coding best practices and updates.
  9. Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to discussions on improving coding processes and procedures.
  10. Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards in handling sensitive information.
  11. Ensure all coding practices are in compliance with company policies and procedures.
  12. Continuously evaluate and improve coding processes to increase efficiency and accuracy.
  13. Serve as a subject matter expert for behavioral health coding and auditing.
  14. Collaborate with other departments to resolve coding-related issues and ensure timely and accurate claims processing.
  15. Uphold the company's mission and values by promoting quality care for individuals with behavioral health needs.

Job Qualifications
  • Extensive Knowledge Of Coding And Documentation Guidelines For Behavioral Health Services, Including Cpt, Hcpcs, And Icd-10 Coding Systems.

  • Minimum Of 3 Years Of Experience In A Coding Or Auditing Role, Preferably In The Behavioral Health Field.

  • Strong Understanding Of Medicare And Medicaid Guidelines And Regulations Related To Coding And Documentation For Behavioral Health Services.

  • Excellent Analytical And Problem-Solving Skills, With The Ability To Identify Coding Errors And Provide Recommendations For Improvement.

  • Certified Professional Coder (Cpc) Or Certified Coding Specialist (Ccs) Certification Preferred.
