Job Description

University Hospitals of Cleveland Medical Center is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Infant Formula/Milk Room Technician to join our team. In this role, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and timely preparation of formula and breast milk for our youngest patients.   1. Prepare and dispense infant formula and breast milk in a safe and timely manner, following strict protocols and guidelines.
  2. Ensure all equipment and supplies in the infant formula/milk room are properly sanitized and maintained.
  3. Monitor and track inventory levels of formula and breast milk to ensure an adequate supply for infants.
  4. Collaborate with medical staff to ensure accurate preparation and administration of specialized formulas for infants with specific medical needs.
  5. Maintain accurate records of formula and breast milk preparation, including patient-specific orders, amounts prepared, and any deviations from standard procedures.
  6. Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures related to infant nutrition, safety, and infection control.
  7. Communicate and collaborate effectively with nursing staff, physicians, and other team members to ensure the highest quality of care for infants.
  8. Stay updated on current research and best practices in infant nutrition to continuously improve and optimize the formula/milk preparation process.
  9. Troubleshoot and resolve any issues or concerns related to formula or breast milk preparation, storage, or administration.
  10. Provide support and education to families on proper storage and handling of breast milk and formula, as well as any necessary equipment or supplies.

This Includes Knowledge Of Different Types Of Infant Formula, Proper Storage And Handling Techniques, And The Ability To Follow Prescribed Feeding Schedules.

  • Attention To Detail: The Role Of An Infant Formula/Milk Room Technician Requires Meticulous Attention To Detail. This Includes Accurately Measuring And Mixing Formula, Labeling And Tracking Inventory, And Maintaining Cleanliness And Organization In The Milk Room. Candidates Must Possess Strong Organizational Skills And The Ability To Follow Protocols And Procedures Precisely.

  • Physical Ability: The Job Of An Infant Formula/Milk Room Technician Involves Frequent Standing, Bending, And Lifting.
