- Prepare and dispense infant formula and breast milk in a safe and timely manner, following strict protocols and guidelines.
- Ensure all equipment and supplies in the infant formula/milk room are properly sanitized and maintained.
- Monitor and track inventory levels of formula and breast milk to ensure an adequate supply for infants.
- Collaborate with medical staff to ensure accurate preparation and administration of specialized formulas for infants with specific medical needs.
- Maintain accurate records of formula and breast milk preparation, including patient-specific orders, amounts prepared, and any deviations from standard procedures.
- Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures related to infant nutrition, safety, and infection control.
- Communicate and collaborate effectively with nursing staff, physicians, and other team members to ensure the highest quality of care for infants.
- Stay updated on current research and best practices in infant nutrition to continuously improve and optimize the formula/milk preparation process.
- Troubleshoot and resolve any issues or concerns related to formula or breast milk preparation, storage, or administration.
- Provide support and education to families on proper storage and handling of breast milk and formula, as well as any necessary equipment or supplies.
High School Diploma Or Equivalent: The Minimum Educational Requirement For This Position Is A High School Diploma Or Equivalent. This Ensures That The Candidate Has A Basic Understanding Of Academic Subjects And Can Perform Tasks That Require Basic Math And Reading Skills.
Previous Experience In A Healthcare Setting: Candidates With Previous Experience Working In A Healthcare Setting, Specifically In A Neonatal Or Pediatric Unit, Will Have An Advantage. This Experience Demonstrates The Candidate's Familiarity With Medical Terminology And Procedures, As Well As Knowledge Of Proper Hygiene And Safety Protocols.
