The Phlebotomist Specimen Processor at University Hospitals of Cleveland Medical Center is an integral part of our patient care team. To qualify for this position, candidates must possess at least a high school diploma, demonstrate at least 3 years of experience in phlebotomy, and hold a valid phlebotomy certification. Responsibilities:
- Collect blood specimens from patients in a safe and efficient manner.
- Prepare and label specimens for testing, ensuring that accuracy and quality are maintained.
- Maintain patient records and documents according to hospital protocol.
- Ensure compliance with all safety and health regulations.
- Follow proper infection control procedures.
- Manage specimen inventory and order supplies as needed.
- Answer patient questions and provide information about test results.
- Communicate effectively with patients, colleagues, and other healthcare professionals.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the department head.
