Job Description

The Phlebotomist Specimen Processor at University Hospitals of Cleveland Medical Center is an integral part of our patient care team. Our ideal candidate will be a compassionate and organized professional with a passion for helping others. The successful applicant will be detail-oriented and have excellent communication skills to ensure accurate delivery of service. To qualify for this position, candidates must possess at least a high school diploma, demonstrate at least 3 years of experience in phlebotomy, and hold a valid phlebotomy certification. Our team is looking forward to welcoming an individual who can effectively interact with patients and provide outstanding service.

Responsibilities:

  1. Collect blood specimens from patients in a safe and efficient manner.
  2. Prepare and label specimens for testing, ensuring that accuracy and quality are maintained.
  3. Maintain patient records and documents according to hospital protocol.
  4. Ensure compliance with all safety and health regulations.
  5. Follow proper infection control procedures.
  6. Manage specimen inventory and order supplies as needed.
  7. Answer patient questions and provide information about test results.
  8. Communicate effectively with patients, colleagues, and other healthcare professionals.
  9. Perform other duties as assigned by the department head.
