- Develop and implement strategic plans for the curation and management of the university's collections and exhibitions.
- Oversee the acquisition, preservation, and documentation of objects in the collections.
- Collaborate with other departments and external partners to plan and execute exhibitions that showcase the diversity and richness of our community.
- Ensure the proper care and conservation of all objects in the collections, including monitoring environmental conditions and implementing appropriate preservation techniques.
- Conduct research on objects in the collections and develop interpretive materials for exhibitions.
- Manage the exhibition budget, including overseeing expenses and seeking opportunities for funding.
- Supervise a team of staff and volunteers involved in the collections and exhibitions, providing guidance and support as needed.
- Develop and maintain relationships with donors, lenders, and other institutions to facilitate the growth and development of the collections.
- Stay informed about current trends and best practices in collections and exhibitions management, and make recommendations for improvements and updates.
- Represent the university at conferences, events, and other professional gatherings to promote the collections and exhibitions.
- Work closely with marketing and communications teams to promote exhibitions and increase public engagement and attendance.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations related to collections and exhibitions management.
- Maintain accurate records of all objects in the collections and prepare reports as needed.
- Serve as a point of contact for inquiries and requests related to the collections and exhibitions.
- Uphold the university's mission to inspire and educate through exceptional collections and exhibitions.
Bachelor's Degree In Art History, Museum Studies, Or A Related Field.
Minimum Of 3-5 Years Of Experience In Collections Management And Exhibition Planning, Preferably In A University Or Museum Setting.
Strong Knowledge Of Museum Best Practices, Including Collection Care, Conservation, And Registration Procedures.
Excellent Organizational And Project Management Skills, With The Ability To Oversee Multiple Exhibitions And Collections Projects Simultaneously.
Experience With Museum Database Systems, Such As Tms Or Pastperfect, And Proficiency In Microsoft Office And Adobe Creative Suite.
