Hazardous Materials Safety Technician

The primary function of this position is to provide required support to the Chemical Hygiene officer and Environmental Compliance and Lab Safety Manager in handling hazardous materials and hazardous waste generated by UNLV. In addition to responsibilities in hazardous waste management, this position provides technical support in the preparation and completion of inspection reports and analyses and corrective actions for problems encountered. The position also provides other support, including spill response, hazardous material shipping, simple chemical safety training, backup safety committee attendance, and support in the resolution of other hazardous material, chemical and waste issues on campus.
