- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on trailers to ensure safe and efficient operation.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical issues with trailers and determine appropriate repair solutions.
- Conduct thorough inspections of trailers to identify any potential problems or issues.
- Repair and replace damaged or malfunctioning parts and components of trailers.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all maintenance and repairs performed on trailers.
- Ensure compliance with all safety and regulatory standards in all repair and maintenance tasks.
- Collaborate with other mechanics and team members to complete repairs and maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and other team members regarding maintenance and repair needs.
- Continuously monitor and evaluate trailer performance to identify areas for improvement and implement solutions.
- Stay up-to-date on industry developments and advancements to continuously improve skills and knowledge.
- Adhere to company policies and procedures at all times.
- Maintain a positive and professional attitude while representing the company to customers and other stakeholders.
- Work efficiently and prioritize tasks to meet tight deadlines and maintain high levels of productivity.
- Follow all safety protocols and use personal protective equipment (PPE) when working on trailers.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment to promote a safe and efficient work environment.
- Mentor and train junior mechanics to improve their skills and knowledge.
- Attend training and development programs as required.
Experience With Trailer Maintenance And Repair: A Qualified Trailer Mechanic At Ups Should Have A Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience Working With Trailers, Including Conducting Regular Inspections, Diagnosing And Troubleshooting Mechanical Issues, And Performing Repairs.
Knowledge Of Industry Standards And Regulations: Knowledge And Understanding Of Relevant Industry Regulations And Safety Standards Is Crucial For A Trailer Mechanic At Ups. This Includes Knowledge Of Department Of Transportation (Dot) Regulations, Inspection Procedures, And Proper Maintenance Practices.
Proficiency In Welding And Fabrication: Trailer Mechanics At Ups Are Expected To Possess Strong Welding And Fabrication Skills To Repair And Maintain Trailers. This Includes The Ability To Weld And Fabricate Using Various Materials, Such As Steel And Aluminum.
Strong Diagnostic And Problem-Solving Skills: The Ability To Diagnose And Troubleshoot Mechanical Issues Is Essential For A Trailer Mechanic At Ups. This Includes Identifying Problems, Determining The Root Cause, And Developing Effective Solutions To Ensure The Safe And Efficient Operation Of Trailers.
Physical Ability And Stamina: This Role Requires A Significant Amount Of Physical Work, Including Lifting Heavy Objects, Bending, And Standing For Long Periods. Therefore, A Qualified Trailer Mechanic At Ups Should Have Good Physical Stamina And Be Able To Perform The Physical Requirements Of The Job.
