- Conduct nutrition assessments and develop personalized dietary plans for patients, taking into consideration their medical conditions, cultural backgrounds, and dietary preferences.
- Provide nutrition education and counseling to patients and their families, emphasizing the importance of proper nutrition in promoting overall health and well-being.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including physicians, nurses, and therapists, to develop comprehensive treatment plans for patients.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, documenting all nutrition-related interventions and progress.
- Monitor and evaluate patients' progress towards their nutrition goals, making necessary adjustments to their dietary plans as needed.
- Communicate effectively with Spanish-speaking patients, utilizing your fluency in the language to provide compassionate and personalized care.
- Stay up-to-date with current research and best practices in clinical nutrition and incorporate this knowledge into your practice.
- Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and contribute your expertise in nutrition to improve patient outcomes.
- Provide support and guidance to other healthcare professionals on nutrition-related matters, serving as a resource for the hospital staff.
- Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures, as well as professional standards and codes of ethics, in the delivery of nutrition care.
Bachelor's Degree In Nutrition Or Dietetics: The Ideal Candidate For This Position Should Have A Bachelor's Degree In Nutrition Or Dietetics, As This Provides A Strong Foundation In The Principles Of Nutrition And Dietetics.
Registered Dietitian (Rd) Certification: A Clinical Dietitian Should Be A Registered Dietitian (Rd) Certified By The Commission On Dietetic Registration (Cdr). This Ensures That The Candidate Has Met The National Standards For Education, Experience, And Ongoing Professional Development.
Bilingual Proficiency In Spanish: As A Spanish-Speaking Preferred Job, Fluency In Spanish Is Essential For Effective Communication With Spanish-Speaking Patients And Their Families. This Will Also Enable The Candidate To Provide Culturally Appropriate Nutrition Education And Counseling.
Minimum Of 2 Years Of Clinical Experience: Wentworth-Douglass Hospital Is Looking For A Candidate With At Least 2 Years Of Clinical Experience In A Hospital Or Healthcare Setting. This Experience Should Include Assessing And Managing Complex Medical Conditions, Developing And Implementing Individualized Nutrition Plans, And Providing Nutrition Education And Counseling.
Strong Interpersonal And Communication Skills: A Clinical Dietitian Must Have Excellent Interpersonal And Communication Skills To Effectively Work With Patients, Their Families, And Other Healthcare Professionals. This Includes The Ability To Listen Actively, Show Empathy, And Explain Complex Nutrition Concepts In A Clear And Understandable Manner.
