As a Lab Aide, you will play a crucial role in assisting our laboratory staff in conducting crucial tests and providing accurate results to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of our patients.   1. Assist laboratory staff in conducting various tests and procedures accurately and efficiently.
  2. Maintain a clean and organized laboratory environment to ensure accurate and timely results.
  3. Collect and process specimens from patients, ensuring proper labeling and storage.
  4. Prepare and maintain laboratory equipment and supplies for use.
  5. Follow proper protocols and procedures to ensure the safety of all staff and patients.
  6. Document and record all test results accurately and promptly.
  7. Report any abnormalities or issues with test results to the appropriate staff.
  8. Communicate effectively with patients and their families, providing a welcoming and friendly atmosphere.
  9. Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures, as well as safety and infection control guidelines.
  10. Continuously monitor inventory levels and report any needs to the laboratory supervisor.
  11. Attend and actively participate in training and educational sessions to stay up-to-date on new procedures and techniques.
  12. Maintain patient confidentiality and handle all information with utmost sensitivity.
  13. Display excellent customer service skills and maintain a positive attitude at all times.
  14. Assist with other duties and tasks as assigned by the laboratory supervisor.

Job Qualifications
  • High School Diploma Or Equivalent: A Lab Aide At Wentworth-Douglass Hospital Must Have A Minimum Of A High School Diploma Or Equivalent, Demonstrating A Basic Level Of Education And Knowledge.

  • Previous Laboratory Experience: Candidates For This Position Should Have Previous Experience Working In A Laboratory Setting, Preferably In A Hospital Or Healthcare Environment. This Experience Will Ensure Familiarity With Laboratory Procedures And Equipment.

  • Knowledge Of Medical Terminology: As A Lab Aide, It Is Important To Have A Good Understanding Of Medical Terminology In Order To Accurately Label And Organize Samples And Communicate With Laboratory Staff.

  • Ability To Follow Protocols And Maintain Accuracy: In A Laboratory Setting, Accuracy And Attention To Detail Are Crucial. A Lab Aide Must Be Able To Follow Protocols And Maintain Precise Records In Order To Ensure The Integrity Of Laboratory Results.

  • Strong Communication And Teamwork Skills: Working As Part Of A Team Is Essential In A Hospital Environment. A Lab Aide Should Possess Strong Communication And Teamwork Skills To Effectively Collaborate With Other Members Of The Laboratory Team And Healthcare Staff.
