- Oversee and manage the daily operations of the pharmacy department, ensuring efficient and effective delivery of services.
- Develop and maintain policies and procedures for the safe and effective use of medications in accordance with state and federal regulations.
- Monitor and maintain inventory levels of medications, ensuring adequate supply for patient care.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to optimize patient medication therapy and promote patient safety.
- Train and supervise pharmacy staff, providing guidance and support to ensure high-quality performance.
- Maintain accurate records of medication orders, dispensing, and patient information in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Resolve any issues or concerns related to medication orders or patient care in a timely and professional manner.
- Stay informed about new medications, drug interactions, and other developments in the field of pharmacy to provide up-to-date care.
- Oversee the implementation of technology and automation systems to improve pharmacy operations and patient safety.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback to pharmacy staff, identifying areas for improvement and implementing appropriate training programs.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and accreditation standards related to pharmacy operations.
- Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, promoting teamwork and open communication.
- Develop and manage the pharmacy budget, monitoring expenses and identifying opportunities for cost savings.
- Participate in hospital committees and meetings to provide input and support for pharmacy-related initiatives.
- Continuously evaluate and improve pharmacy services to enhance patient satisfaction and overall quality of care.
Bachelor's Degree In Pharmacy Or Related Field: A Manager, Pharmacy At Wentworth-Douglass Hospital Should Hold A Minimum Of A Bachelor's Degree In Pharmacy Or A Related Field To Have The Necessary Knowledge And Skills To Oversee The Pharmacy Department.
State Pharmacist License: It Is Essential For A Manager, Pharmacy To Hold A Valid State Pharmacist License To Practice In The State Where Wentworth-Douglass Hospital Is Located.
Previous Management Experience: The Ideal Candidate For This Position Should Have Previous Experience In Managing A Pharmacy Department Or A Team Of Pharmacists, Demonstrating Strong Leadership And Organizational Skills.
Knowledge Of Hospital Pharmacy Operations: A Manager, Pharmacy Should Have A Thorough Understanding Of Hospital Pharmacy Operations, Including Dispensing Medications, Managing Inventory, And Ensuring Compliance With Regulatory Requirements.
