1. Oversee and manage the daily operations of the pharmacy department, ensuring efficient and effective delivery of services.
2. Develop and maintain policies and procedures for the safe and effective use of medications in accordance with state and federal regulations.
3. Monitor and maintain inventory levels of medications, ensuring adequate supply for patient care.
4. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to optimize patient medication therapy and promote patient safety.
5. Train and supervise pharmacy staff, providing guidance and support to ensure high-quality performance.
6. Maintain accurate records of medication orders, dispensing, and patient information in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
7. Resolve any issues or concerns related to medication orders or patient care in a timely and professional manner.
8. Stay informed about new medications, drug interactions, and other developments in the field of pharmacy to provide up-to-date care.
9. Oversee the implementation of technology and automation systems to improve pharmacy operations and patient safety.
10. Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback to pharmacy staff, identifying areas for improvement and implementing appropriate training programs.
11. Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and accreditation standards related to pharmacy operations.
12. Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, promoting teamwork and open communication.
13. Develop and manage the pharmacy budget, monitoring expenses and identifying opportunities for cost savings.
14. Participate in hospital committees and meetings to provide input and support for pharmacy-related initiatives.
15. Continuously evaluate and improve pharmacy services to enhance patient satisfaction and overall quality of care.
