  1. Serve as the first point of contact for patients, providing efficient and friendly service during the registration process.
  2. Greet patients and visitors in a professional and welcoming manner.
  3. Verify patient information, including personal and insurance details, to ensure accurate and timely registration.
  4. Collect patient payments, including copays and deductibles, and provide receipts as needed.
  5. Utilize computer systems and data entry skills to accurately input patient information and update records as necessary.
  6. Communicate effectively with patients, families, and team members to provide excellent customer service and address any concerns or questions.
  7. Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring all necessary supplies are stocked and readily available.
  8. Adhere to hospital policies and procedures, as well as HIPAA regulations, to ensure patient confidentiality and privacy.
  9. Collaborate with other departments, such as billing and medical records, to ensure a smooth registration process for patients.
  10. Attend and actively participate in training sessions and meetings to stay up-to-date on hospital policies and procedures.
  11. Assist in resolving patient complaints or issues, escalating to a supervisor when necessary.
  12. Maintain a positive and professional attitude, fostering a welcoming and inclusive environment for all patients and colleagues.
  13. Uphold the hospital's mission and values of providing compassionate, high-quality healthcare to the community.
  14. Meet and exceed performance goals, including accuracy and productivity metrics, to ensure efficient and effective patient registration.

Job Qualifications
  • High School Diploma Or Equivalent: A Patient Access Representative I Must Have A Minimum Of A High School Diploma Or Equivalent To Be Considered For The Position.

  • Customer Service Experience: This Role Requires Strong Customer Service Skills To Interact With Patients And Their Families In A Professional And Compassionate Manner.

  • Knowledge Of Medical Terminology: A Basic Understanding Of Medical Terminology Is Necessary To Accurately Communicate With Patients And Healthcare Providers.

  • Experience With Electronic Health Records: Proficiency In Using Electronic Health Record Systems Is Important For Accurately Entering And Retrieving Patient Information.

  • Availability To Work Evenings: This Position Specifically Requires Availability To Work Evening Shifts, Typically Between 3Pm And 11Pm, Including Weekends And Holidays.
