Job Description

West Virginia United Health System is seeking a motivated, certified Exercise Specialist to join our team. The Exercise Specialist will be responsible for developing and delivering comprehensive exercise programs for our patients that promote increased health, well-being, and physical activity. The ideal candidate will have a passion for helping others, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to providing exceptional care.To be successful in this role, you should have an Associate’s degree or higher in Exercise Science, Physical Education, or a related field, as well as certification from the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM). You should also possess strong organizational, problem-solving, and time management skills.If you are passionate about improving the health and wellbeing of others and have the qualifications we are seeking, we look forward to hearing from you.

Responsibilities:

  1. Develop comprehensive exercise programs for patients that promote increased health, well-being, and physical activity.
  2. Monitor and evaluate patient progress to ensure that exercise goals are met.
  3. Maintain records of patient sessions and results.
  4. Educate and counsel patients on exercise program design, safety, and lifestyle changes.
  5. Adapt exercise programs to meet individual patient needs.
  6. Respect patient privacy and maintain confidentiality of patient information.
  7. Demonstrate expertise in exercise prescription and instruction.
  8. Provide guidance and support to other health care professionals in the development and implementation of exercise programs.
  9. Develop and maintain positive relationships with patients, family members, and other healthcare providers.
  10. Remain up-to-date on latest developments in exercise science.
