
Exercise Specialist
West Virginia United Health System is seeking a motivated, certified Exercise Specialist to join our team. The Exercise Specialist will be responsible for developing and delivering comprehensive exercise programs for our patients that promote increased health, well-being, and physical activity. The ideal candidate will have a passion for helping others, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to providing exceptional care.To be successful in this role, you should have an Associate’s degree or higher in Exercise Science, Physical Education, or a related field, as well as certification from the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM). You should also possess strong organizational, problem-solving, and time management skills.If you are passionate about improving the health and wellbeing of others and have the qualifications we are seeking, we look forward to hearing from you.
Responsibilities:
- Develop comprehensive exercise programs for patients that promote increased health, well-being, and physical activity.
- Monitor and evaluate patient progress to ensure that exercise goals are met.
- Maintain records of patient sessions and results.
- Educate and counsel patients on exercise program design, safety, and lifestyle changes.
- Adapt exercise programs to meet individual patient needs.
- Respect patient privacy and maintain confidentiality of patient information.
- Demonstrate expertise in exercise prescription and instruction.
- Provide guidance and support to other health care professionals in the development and implementation of exercise programs.
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with patients, family members, and other healthcare providers.
- Remain up-to-date on latest developments in exercise science.
