Job Description

At West Virginia United Health System, we are looking for a motivated and compassionate Laboratory Assistant-Phlebotomist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for collecting and processing blood samples, as well as other laboratory tasks. This is an excellent opportunity to join a fast-paced and innovative environment where you can make a difference in the lives of our patients.To be successful in this position, you must have a high school diploma or equivalent, a current phlebotomy certification, and at least one year of experience in a clinical laboratory setting. You must also have excellent interpersonal skills, be detail-oriented, and have the ability to work independently. Responsibilities:

  1. Collect blood samples from patients in a safe and efficient manner.
  2. Perform laboratory tests on collected samples and record results.
  3. Maintain and update patient records.
  4. Prepare laboratory specimens for transport.
  5. Calibrate and maintain laboratory equipment.
  6. Ensure all safety protocols are followed.
  7. Assist in training new staff members.
  8. Provide excellent customer service to patients.
  9. Follow all regulations and guidelines set by the laboratory.
  10. Perform other laboratory tasks as needed.

Job Qualifications
