Job Description

At West Virginia United Health System, we provide high quality, person-centered care to individuals in our community. We are seeking a Peer Recovery Coach to join our team to help provide our mental health and substance use disorder patients with the compassionate support they need to achieve and maintain their recovery. The Peer Recovery Coach will form relationships with clients and provide guidance and resources to navigate their recovery journey.The ideal candidate for this role will be an empathetic individual who is passionate about helping others, and who has a personal understanding of recovery from mental health and/or substance use disorder. The successful applicant will have excellent communication and problem-solving skills, and will thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.We are looking for a motivated professional who enjoys working with others and is eager to help our clients reach their recovery goals. Responsibilities: • Develop and maintain positive relationships with clients to provide guidance and resources to navigate their recovery journey. • Utilize effective communication and problem-solving skills to help clients reach their recovery goals. • Assist clients in identifying their strengths, resources and needs, and provide appropriate referrals. • Provide clients with education and resources to support their recovery process, including relapse prevention techniques and other coping strategies. • Advocate for clients and their families and coordinate appropriate care and support services. • Respond to crises in a timely and effective manner, utilizing crisis intervention techniques. • Participate in team meetings and other required trainings. • Document client progress and follow up on interventions. • Maintain current knowledge of best practices in mental health and substance use disorder treatment.
