Job Description

The Labor & Delivery nurse supports the family-centered maternity care model and provides direct nursing care. Assesses and documents a complete physical assessment, nursing interventions, teaching and discharge needs for the patients assigned to each shift. Initiates IV therapy and documents accurate information on the patient record Basic Fetal Monitoring. Knowledge of proper body mechanics, safety measures and infection control, knowledge of age of population served, and additional knowledge of section specific test information and instrumentation may be required.
